Windows Clients

 

zMud

 

zMud is the world's premier Winsock MUD client for PC/Windows. This sophisticated GUI client supports multiple character windows (multiplaying), aliases, triggers with complex pattern matching, macro keys, variables, speedwalking, graphical buttons, extensive built-in and user-defined functions, ANSI;color, word wrapping, alarms, and online help. It is fully customizeable and 90% compatible with TinTin++ clients.

 

 Mudlet  It’s a new breed of a client on the MUD scene – with an intuitive user interface, a specially designed scripting framework, and a very fast text display. Add to that cross-platform capability, an open-source development model, and you have a very likable MUD client.

 

GMUD One of the more popular mud clients for windows although not supported anymore. Includes documentation and help files.

 

MUD Mage MUD Mage (for Win95/98/NT) is a secure MUD client that includes fast ANSI, is fully configurable, ANSI palette modification, uses 32-bit processing, internal MUD note editor, internal keyword database, global toggles, numeric keypad movement/commands, configuration import/export, multimedia interaction, easy uninterrupted scrollback, hotkeys (instant, insertion, etc), triggers (action, color, timer, etc), aliases/variables, automap (save text and graphics), commandline control, command tracking, multiplaying, logging, optional letter wrapping, no nasty shareware tricks, registered user support, and free updates to registered users. More and more players are finding this client to be the most efficient on the net for all MUD playing, especially for survival.

 

MudMaster The client is 32bit only (win95/NT). It runs in the win32 console mode which makes it quite a bit faster than any GUI client around. It supports actions, aliases, macros, variables, events, gags, highlights, arrays, lists, ANSI color. Site to site chat allows the private talking of players, transfer of files and transfer of scripts.

 

Portal The world's first truly global client (win95/98 only. Other OS's currently in progress) - Portal is a brilliant mud client. it is compatible with virtually hundreds of MUDs/MOOs/MUSHes etc... It has literally hundreds of features, with an easy to learn scripting feature to add your own features as well. Fully user-customisable.

 

SimpleMU MUSH Client SimpleMU is a winsock-based client written by Kathleen McMahon (shae). It was designed with MUSHes in mind, however can be used for MUDs, MUCKs and MOOs. Some of its features are: ansi color support, multiple server support, history recall, keyboard macros, offline mail composing, triggers, pattern matching gags and sound triggers.

 

Linux/Unix Clients

AMCL AMCL is a small light-weight mu* client in an on-going state which aims to be a widely used, and useful mudclient for X11/Unix.

 

MCL MCL runs primarily under the Virtual Consoles of Linux, but can run in a slower mode, which allows it to run under xterm and any other UNIX. Supports scrollback limited only by your memory, separate input line, stable ANSI support, automatic prompt snarfing, aliases, macro keys, actions and substitutions. Extensively scriptable using Perl or Python.

 

SClient Sclient is an small fast mudclient to be runned under Linux/X windows. It's very much under development but it's still a great client(rated 3 of 5 on www.linuxberg.com)

 

KMud Kmud is a mud client for Unix/X11 especially for the KDE Desktop Environment. Features up to now: connection wizard/profiles, aliases, triggers, logging, ansi/vt100 support, input history (with auto complete), auto reconnect, delimited input for entering several commands, connection timer, alternative input line, configurable font/color-settings, splitscreen when in scrollback, mccp support, output notfication, multiline input, numpad-walking, speed-walking.

 

Mac Clients

Savitar Savitar is a commercial quality MUD client for the Macintosh. With its well designed UI and features uncommon to most MUD clients, Savitar is worth checking out.
