Barbarians

The barbarian class has been added. You may read help barbarian for further information.

The first question likely to come to mind will be: Why do we need another class when (insert class name here) needs work? The short answer is that this class came into conception before either fathomers or bladesingers (if you want a precise time frame, there was a note up from 1997 about code requirements). Those two classes (plus overhauls to classes for the Shattering plus the Shattering, plus Paths, plus other projects) have caused barbarians to be shelved numerous times. We finally decided that it was time that we complete this idea before I was too old and feeble to type.

What hopefully is unique about the barbarian class is not just the slist, but the fact that this is the first class to be based outside of the "common culture" that exists for all existing classes. Barbarians don't begin life in Darkhaven Academy and the city is not their base of operations. Barbarians do not have a Guild, but they do have a Tribe, of which every Barbarian is automatically a part. A player may choose to leave the tribe, but they will lose all the benefits of the village. They can not join an Order after departing but they can join a Clan if they should choose to go deadly. There are other facets of the class (inability to use magic wands, read scrolls, objects that allow skills not shown on the slist, Clans within the Tribe, etc) that should make barbarians seem worthwhile and worthy of a slot as a new class despite the other work that needs to be done.
